Medical Radiation Technologists (MRTs)  practice in four distinct categories: Magnetic Resonance, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, and Radiological Technology. To work as an MRT in Atlantic Canada you must first complete an accredited educational program in MRT. Only then are you eligible to write the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification exam.

Internationally educated MRTs must apply to the CAMRT to have their credentials assessed prior to entering practice.
